Business Acuity's mobile solutions partner Reslink Solutions today announced the latest release of its NFC mobile phone solution that enables any organization to quickly and easily add NFC functionality to their operational systems. Employees, or consumers, can touch RFID tags placed at known locations/items and the Reslink software on their NFC phone (such as the Nokia 6212) will then display context-sensitive options that enable them to record their activities or retrieve data appropriate to that location or item. Comments Mark Ellwood, Sales/Partner Manager, “this new release further strengthens Reslink’s unique product that allows IT departments, software companies, IT consultants and Mobile Network Operators to rapidly create customizable NFC solutions for targeted end users – be they cleaners, security guards, homecare workers or the general public. All functionality required is configured via a web-based interface and mass-distributed over-the-air to users phones. No knowledge of NFC or mobile phone technology is necessary and we have clients that have configured and integrated an NFC solution into their own back-office applications in less than one day.” New features within the latest Reslink RFID product include: • Re-designed web-based “Mobile Client Builder” (patent pending) for creating the phone user interface • Improved integration modules that allow the passing of data to/from any other system using web-services and SOAP/XML messages • Customizable two-way Remote Communication enabling question/response functionality that can be integrated to any application – for example, touch tag and receive back a list of tasks that must be performed there, or retrieve the latest service history for that tagged item • Non-tag-related options that allow users to record or retrieve data relevant to them personally (get my latest job list, report sick today, etc) • Enhanced Lone Worker Protection (LWP) functionality including automatic silent dialling of emergency numbers and “I’m Alive” transmissions • Questionnaire-type options that can feed the user a pre-defined list of questions for them to answer after touching a tag • Improved “Off-line” features that transparently switch the user between off- and on-line modes depending on the quality of the mobile phone signal they currently have • Invisible software distribution means that if you need to add some extra functionality for potentially thousands of users, there is no need to re-distribute the software as the new functionality will simply appear the next time they start the phone application About Reslink (www.reslink.fi) Reslink is a Finnish software company that specializes in mobile phone solutions for proof-of-attendance and location-sensitive data capture.
